Do you like to shop?
There is NO shortage of shopping here in South Florida. Frankly, the shopping here is GREAT! South Floridians rarely feel the need to travel outside of the area for shopping
From upscale malls with anchor department stores such as Bloomingdales, Nordstrom and Saks Fifth Avenue to premium outdoor shopping plazas to sprawling outlet malls to Marshalls, Home Goods and T.J.Maxx stores sprinkled throughout every community, you have plenty of choices as to where to spend your shopping dollars!
Let’s start with the upscale malls. From North to South: The Gardens Mall in Palm Beach, The Town Center in Boca Raton, The Galleria, Aventura and Dadeland Mall…just to name a few. These malls have a plethora of specialty stores such as Francesca’s, White House/Black Market, Ann Taylor, Coach, LOFT, Lululemon, Sharper Image, Crate & Barrel, Pottery Barn and so much more! Check the mall maps online for your favorites. They all have good Food Courts too! Some even have nicer restaurants, so once again, check before you go!
On nice days, you may choose to walk around one of the premium open air (outdoor) shopping areas.
City Place is located in West Palm Beach (off of Okeechobee, east of I-95). There is a big MACYS there and tons of great restaurants and shops (including a major Anthropologie). PLUS movies, a comedy club and a couple of bars too!!
Mizner Park is centrally located in Boca Raton and is a destination for many. It is kid and pet friendly too! Mizner has many upscale stores, including Lord & Taylor as an anchor. Recently, Sugarboo, one of my favorite “farm-house feel” home stores opened in Mizner! The Park has delicious restaurants and something for everyone’s taste. These include Max’s Grille, Junior’s Deli, Trulucks, Uncle Julio’s, YardHouse. When you run out of energy, grab a Starbucks before heading into Z Gallerie for a new piece of art or a fun pillow!
Bal Harbour Shops are located just north of Miami Beach. These shops actually opened in 1965 as Florida’s first exclusive, high-fashion shopping center on what had been the site of a World War II army barracks. They are still there and boasting high fashion, designer boutiques and luxury like nobody else! This shopping area include stores such as Chanel, Fendi, Tiffany, Dior, Gucci, Neiman Marcus and more. Put on your fancy duds and enjoy this high-end scene!
Check out The Falls in Kendall if you are even more south! Or The Village of Merrick Park in Coral Gables. All just lovely and so much fun for shopping enthusiasts!
And when you’re in the mood for some steals and deals, you must check out two great outlet shopping: Sawgrass Mills located in Sunrise and the Palm Beach Outlets located in West Palm Beach. Sawgrass is indoors, sprawling and you can definitely spend the full day there. Don’t be surprised to see shoppers rolling suitcases full of bargains! Palm Beach is a newer outlet mall and is outdoor. Great shopping also, but not as big as Sawgrass.
If shopping is your game, then South Florida will not disappoint you
